The Guest House is a place of ministry for both World Gospel Mission and other organizations as missionaries to Mexico pass through regularly. We sometimes serve local families in need of temporary housing, along with many short-term and mid-term volunteers for our ongoing ministries.
Events at the WGM Taylor Community Center, across the street, will provide additional opportunities for service to the local community as we reach out together with the love of Christ.
Qualifications
A love for hospitality, physical ability to clean and prepare facilities for guests, organizational skills for scheduling.
Language Requirements
English is required, but Spanish will be helpful as many local children and families speak only Spanish. Spanish language school is required for long-term missionaries.
Length of Service
- Mid-term: one to twelve months
- Long-term: two or more years
Ministry Description
The guest house coordinator will be responsible for scheduling guests, cleaning the guest house, and potentially grocery shopping and cooking for teams or groups. There will also be opportunities to help prepare for community events offered through the Taylor Community Center. Relationships can be built with other volunteers and WGM staff as well as with community members through conversations and prayer together. By serving with WGM in McAllen, TX, you can help multiply impact for Christ on the Texas/Mexico border.
