John: I was born as a WGM missionary kid in Bolivia, South America, and grew up there with my parents, Joe and Ellen Kunkle. It was during this time that I accepted the Lord as my Savior and was sanctified to serve as a missionary pilot.

Priscilla: I was also born as a WGM missionary kid in Haiti but grew up on the American Indian Field in Arizona with my parents, Leslie and Mary Ruth Madsen. I accepted the Lord as my Savior and sanctifier at a young age. I met John while we were attending Vennard College (Iowa), and we were married in 1995.

We served in Bolivia with the Wings of Peace aviation ministry from 2002 until its closure in 2008. Upon our return to the U.S., we were presented with the opportunity to serve temporarily on the Mexico border as pastors of a Hispanic church in Laredo, Texas. We answered that call and moved with our four children—David, Jonathan, Tianna, and Anthony—to Laredo in 2009.

This church now has a new pastor from Honduras, and we sensed God leading us to make another change. A desperate need for teachers and workers at Taylor Christian School and Taylor Community Center in McAllen, Texas, prompted us to offer our services there. We are excited to serve with Texas/Mexico Border Ministries, which reaches out to the local Hispanic community through Christian education and community service.
