Short-Term Missions

It Starts with a Yes

Maybe God will use your first yes to reveal a long-term calling. Or maybe short-term teams will be your way to engage in missions through serving, learning, and inviting others along.

Either way, you can come alongside WGM global workers for one to two weeks and love people well where God has placed them.

Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Where can teams serve?
Teams can serve in locations like Albania, Cambodia, Honduras, Jamaica, Kenya, Mexico, Papua New Guinea, Uganda, and several locations in the United States. We can send a team wherever WGM has global workers serving. Check out this world map to see where WGM global workers are located, or contact us for more information.
How often are trips available?
Teams are welcome to set their own dates. We will then confirm those dates with the missionaries on the field. Teams should plan to apply six months before they would like to serve to allow plenty of time to prepare and raise support.
How long is a typical team trip?
The majority of teams go for a week to 10 days. However, if you plan to serve in Africa [or Asia/Pacific], it is best to go for at least two weeks because of the long travel time involved.
How many people can serve on a team?
Teams can be as small as four people, but an ideal team has 10 to 15 members. Some locations can accommodate even bigger groups.
How much does a trip cost, and what does the price include?
Prices are determined by where you go, how long you stay, airline travel costs, etc. Team costs include airfare, food, lodging, transportation on the field, insurance, and ministry money.
What do teams do?
We try to give each team a combination of work and ministry. Global workers of the ministry location determine what ministry the team will have according to the makeup of the team and the needs of the ministry location. Ministries you may be involved in include construction, maintenance, Vacation Bible School programs, kids' clubs, medical and dental outreach, and more!
How does someone become a team leader?
If you would like to lead your own team, we would love to talk with you! If it is your first time leading a team with WGM, please complete a team leader application. Once you're approved, we then help prepare and equip you which includes attending one of our Team Leader Training events.
Where is the team member application?
If you’re looking for the application form to sign up for your scheduled team, please contact your Team Leader. Your Team Leader has a direct link to the application form. You will not be able find the form on our website without having the direct link from your Team Leader.
