Why do we stop at 10:02 to pray?
These were his instructions to them: “The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields." Luke 10:2 (NLT)
What does it mean that “the harvest is great”? Jesus often spoke in parables. Since agriculture was such a common industry in His time, Jesus often used agricultural terms as analogies for His messages. When He says, “the harvest is great,” what He means is that so many people have never heard the name of Jesus. So everyone can hear His name, more people need to go and share His love.
Taking the Luke 10:2 Challenge means you’re joining in what Jesus calls us to do in this passage—asking the Father to send more people to the ends of the earth to preach His Good News.
