Pepsny Family Serving at Tenwek Hospital from David Pepsny on Vimeo.
David: It was seventeen years ago when I first served with WGM at Tenwek Hospital. During my time at Tenwek, I realized that I had a passion for missions and decided that one day I would return to Africa. Soon after graduating with a Master of Science degree in Healthcare Administration and Interprofessional Leadership from the University of California San Francisco (UCSF), I felt God’s calling to go back and serve at Tenwek Hospital. I have a desire to “go” to some of the most vulnerable people in this world and show who Jesus is through medical missions. I love Tenwek’s motto: “We treat and Jesus Heals.” I believe my passion and experience in healthcare leadership has positioned me well to make a difference in medical missions.
Kristie: From an early age, I have loved being a "teacher" of sorts. I used to play “school” with my sisters when we were young. I began working with children at an early age: babysitting, teaching Sunday School, helping with VBS, and working at a Christian camp during college. I was also an in-home tutor for kids with autism, and after college, my passion for special education began to emerge. I continued schooling, earned a multiple subject teaching credential, and continued on to earn a teaching credential in special education. My desire to share the love of God with children from all backgrounds grew into my life's calling.
Our family has a passion to serve the most vulnerable populations. Our family of six is excited to say yes to Jesus and serve the Lord in Kenya in the following ways:
- Providing hospital operational support with systems and processes
- Providing hospital leadership with ancillary services
- Enhancing interdepartmental relations
- Training others to serve effectively in administrative roles
- Enhancing and assisting the homeschool community at Tenwek and the special education program at the Baby Center
