Benji and Erica Jenkins

Benji and Erica Jenkins enjoy working with missionaries making sure they have the support they need to do what God has called them to do. Erica enjoys creating community and encouraging women. Benji is excited about the opportunities for ministry in Asia and the Pacific. He is passionate about developing partnerships in the region and has a vision for the expansion of WGM’s influence into new territories.

Whether it is through a seminary in India, church planting in Papua New Guinea, ministering to youth in Japan, training pastors in Thailand, Nepal, and Sri Lanka, or discipling college students in South Korea and Cambodia, the Jenkins’ desire is to equip and disciple missionaries and local pastors to carry out the Great Commission throughout Asia Pacific.

The Jenkins’ Missions Journey:

Benji grew up in Papua New Guinea, where his parents served as missionaries until he was fourteen. After serving on multiple short-term mission trips, Benji felt God calling him to full-time service during a year-long stay in Honduras.   

Erica grew up in a Christian home in southern Ohio and felt called to full-time mission work while attending Ohio Christian University. After serving together on a WGM task force to Paraguay, Benji and Erica knew they would minister together for the rest of their lives.

Benji returned to Papua New Guinea in 2003, this time as a married man. He and Erica were excited to serve where the Lord led, and they quickly found out that He would lead them in many directions. Throughout their time in PNG, Benji and Erica served in various ministries, including construction, education, administration, discipleship, and many others. In 2014, God once again led them in a new direction. Benji accepted the position of Team Leader for Papua New Guinea. He enjoyed leading the missionaries and growing the team in PNG. 

In 2020, Benji became Area Team Leader for PNG, Cambodia and South Korea. In January 2024, Benji was asked to broaden his sphere of influence again and accepted the position of Regional Director for Asia Pacific. In July 2025, Benji and Erica moved from Mount Hagen, Papua New Guinea, to Chiang Mai, Thailand.

Benji and Erica have four children: Cameron (born in 2004), Mark (2004), Chloe (2006), and Henry (2008).
