Share the Gospel: Make a Year-End Gift

December 14, 2017

By Dr. Dan Schafer, president

The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. (John 1:14 NIV)

This is one of my favorite Christmas verses, although it’s not located in the traditional Christmas passages found in Luke or Isaiah. However, it quickly and directly communicates the evangel—the good news of Christ’s birth.

For some 2,000 years, followers of Christ—folks like you and me—have considered the life-altering events of that first Christmas in Bethlehem.

Except for a star in the eastern sky that shown brighter that night than ever before and angels singing to a handful of stunned shepherds tending their sheep on a hillside not far away, the night was still. By most accounts, just another night. But in that stable—without kingly pageantry—God became man.

And the miracle of the Incarnation—the miracle by which we mark time on our calendars—took place. The Son of God broke through time and eternity, was born to a young Jewish virgin, and became God in human flesh.

In the complexity, yet incredible simplicity, of the event, the Word became flesh.

My resolve this Christmas is to help prepare WGM missionaries—like never before and in even greater numbers—to share the good news of the Incarnation of Christ with the lost who live without hope.

As long as people are dying without a witness of God’s forgiveness, grace, or love, there remains much to be done. And I believe the Incarnation on that first Christmas demands we respond.

Because of what God did on our behalf—yours and mine—we’re committed to seeing lives changed here and around the world. Our desire is to see women, men, and children come to the Savior and experience a deeper walk with the Master.

To do that, we need your prayers and financial support. Your gift—especially during this busy Christmas season—will help address the continued financial needs associated with keeping our family of missionaries cared for and on the fields to which God has called them.

Without your help, it simply won’t happen.

As Christmas rapidly approaches, will you consider making a special year-end gift to the Global Impact Fund? Your generous gift will help make it possible for us to continue to provide for the many and varied needs of our missionaries.

And that, my friend, is a fantastic Christmas gift!

May these next few days and weeks, as we celebrate the Word becoming flesh, be worship-filled. And in the midst of the busyness of life, take time to focus on the wonder and majesty of the Incarnation. You won’t be disappointed!
