Tenwek Hospital: Accident and Emergency Equipment Fund
Funds are needed to equip a new emergency room to care for the large number of emergency and trauma patients seeking care at Tenwek Hospital in Kenya, East Africa. The new Accident and Emergency Centre project will transform our current seven-bed unit to a sixteen-bed unit, providing for isolation rooms, trauma bays, X-ray and ultrasound services, as well as additional space for training staff in emergency procedures and emergency training courses.
This fund will provide the equipment needed for patient care, including stretchers, monitors, ultrasound, and x-ray equipment, as well as basic items such as blood pressure cuffs, patient gowns, and linens. The estimated need is $250,000. This well-equipped new Accident and Emergency facility will allow the doctors and nurses to provide compassionate, Christ-centered care to thousands of the sickest patients we encounter.
