Children's/Youth Ministries in Peru
Children, in general, are open to new ideas and information. This usually makes them more receptive to learning about the Bible and what it means for their lives than their parents or other adults. George Barna also states that 85 percent of people who come to Christ do so before the age of 18. That’s why children’s and youth ministries are so important around the world.
In Cusco, Peru, the national church and World Gospel Mission are working together to plant seeds in young hearts that will last a lifetime. Cusco is the former capital of the Inca Empire and welcomes thousands of tourists each year to the Inca ruins of Machu Picchu. This tourism has introduced New Age beliefs, alternative lifestyles, and other religions that influence Peruvian youth.
Children’s and youth ministries in Peru include Sunday School classes at Agape Church and regularly scheduled youth meetings. Missionaries and national Christians are committed to helping Peruvian children and youth understand that God loves them and that they can have a personal relationship with Him.
