What a joy it is to follow the Lord on my "missions adventure" in McAllen, Texas, on the Texas/Mexico border. I grew up on a small farm in northeastern Kentucky. My mother faithfully took my brother and me to Sunday School, where I learned that God had a special plan for my life. The summer before my senior year of college, I attended a revival service with my aunt. That night I prayed and knew Jesus was my Savior.
During my seventh year of public school teaching in Kentucky, I consecrated my all to the Lord and surrendered to His call to missions. The following two years, I studied Bible and missions at Kentucky Mountain Bible College. After graduating from KMBC, I was appointed by World Gospel Mission to be a missionary teacher in Bolivia. I taught at Santa Cruz Christian Learning Center for six years.
In 1995, I felt the Lord leading me to teach at Taylor Christian School in McAllen, where I have taught ever since. I feel so privileged and blessed to use my gifts as a teacher on the mission field. What a joy it is to help children find Jesus as their Savior and to help them learn to walk closely with Him.
