Stockton is a city filled with poverty, gangs, people caught up in addiction, and homelessness. The Center exists to break the cycles that have existed for generations. We do this by focusing on children, their families, and local leaders to help them become the change they want to see in the community. One of the ways this is accomplished is through an after-school program that provides an environment where they can feel safe and loved. Surrounded by mentors, these kids are taught about God, get homework help, and learn skills that can prepare them for success. Since arriving in Stockton, we’ve been blown away by the possibilities for ministry. As a result, we are arranging community events to help better understand the barriers they face and how to overcome them.

While the problems are many, we are excited about the endless opportunities to make a meaningful impact on people’s lives. Please pray for wisdom as we discern which programs we should start that will make the most significant difference in the community.
