Jacob and Lauren Fraher
Jacob and Lauren Fraher serve impoverished children in Kenya seeking life-saving medical care at Tenwek Hospital. Tenwek is a teaching and referral mission hospital, which seeks to exemplify Christ in all aspects of care and holds tightly to the motto: “We Treat but Jesus Heals!”
Jacob and Lauren began this work at Tenwek in March 2020 through Faith Aid, a ministry they founded in 2013 after God showed them the immense suffering of impoverished children in need of surgery. God has placed the needs of sick and suffering children on their hearts, and they work to share His love with children in need of medical care.
In addition to sponsoring surgeries, their work expanded at Tenwek in January 2021 with the opening of Mustard Seed House, a home away from home for children and families traveling for treatment. Children travel to Tenwek from all over Kenya. After traveling for hours upon hours, they often arrive as strangers in an unfamiliar place. Mustard Seed House supports families not only with safe lodgings, but also through Christian counseling and encouragement as they cope and prepare for the treatment ahead. When a child receives an unfamiliar diagnosis, when parents are consumed with fear and anxiety, God reassures and comforts them through Mustard Seed House.
Jacob and Lauren are joined on the mission field by their four children, Miriam, Micah, Layla, and Lorelei.
