From the beginning of our service to the Lord as missionaries, we have discovered that our ministry often involves many different responsibilities, and sometimes unexpected ones! In every opportunity, we count it a great privilege to share Christ’s love in a needy world.

We are thankful for open doors of service in the local churches of Santa Cruz, Bolivia. As a nurse, Donna uses her knowledge and skills to help those with physical needs, taking part in occasional medical campaigns. At Berea Bible Seminary, Mike trains future leaders for the church, teaching young people who have a God-given desire to serve others in the name of Christ. Periodic ministry trips to remote regions of the country have provided incredible opportunities to share the Gospel, at times in places where any Christian witness at all is still very new. We continue to look forward to what God has in store for us next in the land of our calling—Bolivia, South America.

Mike was born in Lancaster, Ohio, and grew up in Circleville. Mike heard the call to the ministry in 1976 while with his parents who were serving as missionaries in Dominica, West Indies. This was a call that soon led Mike into missionary service to the country of Bolivia.

Education: Graduate of Ohio Christian University, B.A. 1983; Fuller Theological Seminary School of World Missions in Pasadena, California with a M.A. in Cross Cultural Studies, 1985.

Experience: Missionary to Bolivia since 1986, working as a preacher, teacher and writer. Mike has authored four books, three about missions in Bolivia. Mike has taught at the Santa Cruz Christian Learning Center, the Berea Bible Seminary and the Bolivian Evangelical University, all located in Santa Cruz, Bolivia.

Donna was born at Langley Air Force Base, Virginia, her father being a career military man. She is, however, a New Englander, her hometown being Hingham, Massachusetts. Donna felt led to be a missionary when she was stationed in Honduras, Central America while serving on active duty in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps. After an honorable discharge from the military, she began her missionary service in Bolivia through her church, the Salvation Army.

Education: Ohio Christian University, B.A. in missions, 1981 (valedictorian); Salvation Army Officers Training School, 1983; Rutgers University College of Nursing, B.S. in nursing, 1989 (valedictorian); and various military schools in the U.S. Academy of Health Sciences while in the Army (1985-1992).

Experience: Commissioned as an officer in the Salvation Army in 1983. Served as chief nurse at the Salvation Army hospital in Cochabamba, Bolivia. Served in the U.S. Army as an officer in the Nurse Corps, discharged with the rank of Captain. Has served as a missionary to Bolivia since 1992. Has headed up various humanitarian/compassionate ministries in Bolivia using her nursing knowledge and has worked with Medical Ministry International on medical campaigns in different areas of the country.

Mike and Donna were married in 1994 and have two adult children, Nathaniel and Evangeline, who were both born in Bolivia.
