Holiday Traditions: America vs. Albania


In America, Christmas decorations and layaway counters appear in stores in early October. In Albania, there are no Christmas tree farms, decorations are available at only a few stores, and peppermint and gingerbread are not sold. In fact, it was illegal to celebrate Christmas in Albania just 20 years ago.

Fortunately, for missionary kids Ellie (9) and Reni (5) Waggoner, that law is no longer in effect. Although Reni has yet to decide what his favorite holiday is, Ellie is certain that Christmas is her favorite.
