Opportunities
An experienced computer technician is needed to maintain and update computers at Taylor Christian School in McAllen, Texas. Taylor has two computer labs with nearly 30 computers. This ministry could be combined with a teacher’s aide position. The position does not require full-time hours, so the computer technician would able to help with other responsibilities and ministries as needed.
Qualifications
Applicants must have knowledge and training in computers, software, internet installation, and usage.
Language Requirement
English is required, but Spanish will be helpful as many children and families in the area speak only Spanish. Spanish language school is required for full-time missionaries.
Length of Service
- Mid-term: two weeks to a year
- Long-term: two or more years
Ministry Description
Taylor Christian School and Taylor Community Center share a campus in McAllen, Texas. The school uses a curriculum based on A Beka, Saxon math, and other materials to provide an individualized, quality Christian education. Physical education, computer, music, and art classes are also offered. Age-appropriate chapels are held each Friday, and throughout the year, each grade level has opportunities for doing community service and developing servant-leaders.

- The school’s main goals are to offer a Christ-centered education and to train children and youth to know and serve the Lord with all their hearts, minds, and strength.
- TCS began as a kindergarten for the children of migrant workers in 1948. The school expanded into an elementary and was dedicated in January 1949.
