Elmor and Damary Benedith

Damary: At 16 years of age, Damary found herself participating in a missions convention directed towards youth in Juticalpa, Olancho. At that time, God won her heart to serve Him, specifically in the area of missions.

Elmor: While studying as a student at El Sembrador, Elmor played soccer. A trainer recruited him to become part of a professional team; all he needed was his documentation. However, while home in Punta Gorda retrieving his documentation, he was invited by a childhood friend to attend a missions convention in Siguatepeque. God captured Elmor’s heart at that time, calling him into full time service, specifically to missions. Consequently, when returning to Olancho he didn’t turn documentation over to the trainer; rather, he enrolled at the Bible Institute at El Sembrador where he met Damary.

It was fantastic to find out later when reviewing our backgrounds that God called us the same year, the same month, and the same week. In other words, as God spoke to Damary about missions while in Olancho, He was also talking to Elmor while in Siguatepeque, before we had even met one another.

It is great being able to share our calling, which eventually led us to our arrival in Mexico on October 21, 2021.

We currently serve as teachers and assistant secretary at “The Vine Learning Center.” We also have Bible studies for couples, women, families, children, and youth. We are in the process of starting a church. We are constantly sharing food with different families who don’t know Christ, building friendships, sharing Jesus' love, and teaching what a godly life is and what God expects from us.

We have three children: Resueh (a student at Cedarville University in Ohio), and Jeziel and Brigitte, who are studying at “The Vine Learning Center.”

Damary: A los 16 años se encontraba en la ciudad de Juticalpa, Olancho, participando en un campamento de jóvenes dirigidas a misiones. Ahí Dios conquistó su corazón para servirle, pero específicamente en el campo misionero. 

Elmor: Era estudiante del colegio en la Escuela El Sembrador y parte de un equipo de futbol. El entrenador le dijo que estaba listo para postularlo a un equipo más profesional (El Victoria) solamente faltaba los papeles. Estando en Punta Gorda, un amigo de la infancia le invitó a una conferencia misionera en Siguatepeque. Él aceptó y en esa conferencia misionera, Dios cautivó su corazón para prepararse y servirle específicamente en el campo misionero. Así que cuando regresó a Olancho con sus documentos ya no se fue con el entrenador sino a matricularse al Instituto Bíblico de la Escuela El Sembrador. Ahí nos conocimos.

Pero lo grandioso de todo esto es que cuando revisamos nuestras historias nos dimos cuenta de que el llamado de ambos fue el mismo año, el mismo mes y la misma semana. Significa que mientras Dios trataba con Damary en Olancho, también trataba con Elmor en Siguatepeque sin conocernos.

Esa es nuestra historia más grandiosa que podemos compartir de nuestro llamado. Lo cual nos llevó a llegar a México el 21 de octubre del año 2021.

Servimos como voluntarios en el Centro de Aprendizaje La Vid, Elmor como maestro y Damary como asistente de secretaría y maestra por un tiempo.

También apoyamos con estudios bíblicos a matrimonios, mujeres, familias completas, niños, y adolescentes. Estamos en un sentido formando una iglesia. Constantemente compartimos comidas con diferentes familias que no conocen a Cristo, iniciando una relación de amistad, mostrándoles el amor de Jesús y enseñándoles sobre la vida piadosa que él espera de nosotros.

Tenemos tres hijos: Resueh (estudiando en la Universidad de Cedarville, OH), Jeziel y Brigitte estudiando en el Centro de Aprendizaje La Vid.
