Jim and Martha Ritchie
We came to a true faith in Jesus when we were thirty years old, when Jim was in the Navy. During his twenty-five years of service as an emergency medicine physician and flight surgeon, he directed a specialty training program for seven years and deployed twice to the war in Afghanistan. Martha homeschooled our six kiddos.
In 2014, we moved with our three youngest children to serve in Chogoria Mission Hospital in rural Kenya. Jim helped start the Christian Family Medicine training program and served as missionary team leader. Martha was a community builder, earning the Swahili title of “Mama Watoto Wengi,” or “mother of many children.”
In 2020, we became based in the U.S., serving globally. Jim helps healthcare missionaries learn to thrive in their very challenging ministries. Martha supports missionary kids, missionary families, missionary retirees, and missionaries based in the U.S.
