God has challenged WGM Paraguay to build His church in Paraguay. The future of the church depends on Paraguayan believers who answer the call and, in so doing, invest in their own people—people who need to know the truth. Are the people of Paraguay waiting for you?

Children’s/Youth Ministries
WGM strives to build the future church and change the world through children and youth who are in love with God. While providing physical and emotional support, we are able to minister to the spiritual needs of children and youth by introducing them to the love of Christ.

Children are our next generation of leaders, and that’s why WGM Paraguay knows the focus on children and youth is key to Paraguay’s future. The love of Christ is shown to these precious ones through Vacation Bible School programs, which reach more than 500 children each year; Children’s Day, an annual celebration that takes the message of Christ to the villages through songs, drama, and videos; Children’s Retreat, when children come from different churches for an annual overnight event designed to encourage youth in their faith; and Sunday School classes and Saturday Kid’s Clubs provided by the national church.

Our missionary staff needs more workers to spread the love of Christ to children and youth in Paraguay. Could they be waiting for you?

Church Ministries
The ultimate goal of church ministries is to develop and establish churches worldwide. This is possible by constantly striving to create an atmosphere where evangelism can take place. Leadership training, Christian education, and discipleship help strengthen the church as individuals prepare to go where God leads them and to share the love of Christ. These individuals spread God’s love by establishing relationships in their daily lives with those they are trying to reach.

Through the Mobile Evangelism Team, WGM Paraguay takes the gospel to unreached people in the Asunción area with the help of a flatbed truck and audio and lighting equipment. The team travels to outlying areas to hold evangelistic campaigns, children’s and youth activities, and other outreach programs. The principal purpose of the project is to take the gospel out into the “highways and hedges” to win the unreached and bring them into churches where they can be nurtured and discipled in the Word.

Paraguay has one of the smallest percentages (3 to 4 percent) of evangelical Christians among South American countries. Could they be waiting for you?

Educational Ministries
Through diversified educational opportunities, WGM Paraguay is equipping individuals for success. Primary, secondary, post-secondary, and language schools provide training in a Christ-centered atmosphere. Some of these educational outreaches include Asunción Christian Academy, Guarani-Jopara Institute for Missionaries, and Wesley Bible Institute.

Asunción Christian Academy: Asunción Christian Academy, located in the capital city of Asunción, was started in 1958 by the Free Methodist, Mennonite, and Assembly of God denominations. The academy offers a Christian education to missionary kids in pre-kindergarten through 12th grade, with approximately 200 students enrolling each year.

Guarani-Jopara Institute for Missionaries: Guarani is the heart language of the people of Paraguay. It is also the first language of more than 90 percent of Paraguay’s population. For this reason, it is necessary for missionaries to know Guarani in order to be more effective in communicating the gospel in Paraguay. Since its opening in September 2000, the Institute has offered English-speaking missionaries in Paraguay an accessible and practical method of learning this language.

Wesley Bible Institute: Wesley Bible Institute provides nightly classes to bi-vocational pastors and leaders to equip them to effectively carry out their ministries.

Support Ministries
WGM believes there is a place for everyone in missions. Support ministries offer a way for people to find their niche in missions by using their God-given talents and abilities to work hand-in-hand with other missionaries and national Christians. Some available opportunities include being accountants, treasurers, mechanics, computer technicians, work team coordinators, maintenance workers, and guesthouse hosts. These support roles complement the other ministries on our fields.
