Take Part in the Great Co-Mission!You’ve seen the picture dozens of times: a river is pouring over its banks, and the townspeople have formed a sandbag line to hold back the flood. One volunteer is shoveling sand into burlap sacks. A human chain passes them from hand to hand. At the end of the line, others stack the sacks as high as necessary to stem the flow. Everybody is doing a different task, but they’re really all working on the same job—holding back that river. The mission field is a lot like a sandbag line. At the end there are missionaries working tirelessly to stem the flow of human need. At the beginning of the line there are people like you, passionate about world missions, filling the bags with the material and spiritual resources that are needed. This catalog is about what happens in between you and the missionary. It’s about building lines—recruiting your friends and family to personally connect missionaries around the world with the simple resources they need to literally change the course of human history. Here’s how it works. - Dig In to the catalog. Spend a little time reading the descriptions of these projects.
- Discuss them with your family…your friends at church...your co-workers…your neighbors.
- Discern. Pray for guidance about which project you should undertake.
- Do It. Once you’ve found the right project, mobilize your team, raise the money that’s needed, gather the resources, and pass them down the line to the missionary in the field.
We call this “The Great Co-Mission” for a reason: these projects are missions that can only be done together. WGM provides the missionaries, the fundraising tools, and the coaching. You provide the people, the resources, and the drive to make it happen. Together, we will raise up schools, build clinics, drill wells, and, above all, share the gospel. Join us, and call your friends to “man the line”! In God’s strength, there is nothing that we can’t accomplish together! Hubert P. Harriman President
